Just wanted to let people I hadn't told yet that I didn't get into the Teach for America program. I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed, but I'm not devastated by it. There will be other opportunities to do good things with my life, I suspect.

This has not been a very good four days. 14+ pages of writing due this week - five papers, four classes. That provides the bedrock foundation. Just took my Teach for America phone interview. I think I took it OK, but I'm a little worried. I don't think that I fucked everything up; it's just that I hate the phone. I hate it a lot. I hate it A LOT. I've never liked it, doubly so when I have to talk to people I don't know. But they do accept like 60% of phone interviewees to a full interview ( Read more... )

Past couple of days, I managed to make my way through all of Heroes and all of Psych. I'm thinking I'll watch either Black Books or the rest of Honey + Clover. I could be done with either one by tonight's end, I bet. It's amazing how much I've read and watched TV. 400 pages of The Stand done.
